MEM Insurance is seeking a Subrogation Supervisor to lead our subrogation team while managing a portfolio of complex recovery matters. As a working supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to a team of subrogation professionals while maintaining an active caseload of complex files. You will partner closely with claims leadership, legal counsel, and external experts to ensure timely investigations, effective recovery strategies, and high-quality claim outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the subrogation team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional service.
• Partner with the Claims Consulting Manager to recruit, train, develop, and retain high-performing team members.
• Establish clear performance expectations and conduct performance reviews aligned with MEM’s performance management process.
• Support employee development, succession planning, and career growth initiatives.
• Lead regular team meetings and individual coaching sessions to align priorities and share best practices.
• Participate in claims leadership discussions and departmental initiatives.
Subrogation Operations & Recovery Management
• Oversee the execution of MEM’s subrogation program to maximize recovery opportunities and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Manage a personal caseload of complex and catastrophic subrogation files from investigation through resolution.
• Develop and implement recovery strategies that balance financial outcomes with operational efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive claim investigations, preserve critical evidence, and maintain complete file documentation.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate recovery opportunities and allocate resources effectively.
• Participate in claim reviews and collaborate with claims partners to develop file strategy and direction.
• Monitor arbitration outcomes and identify trends, process improvements, and recovery opportunities.
Legal Coordination & Negotiation
• Collaborate with legal counsel and external partners to preserve rights and develop litigation strategies.
• Negotiate settlements with carriers, attorneys, and other interested parties.
• Represent MEM’s interests during mediations, arbitrations, depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings as needed.
• Provide consultation and status updates to policyholders, agents, underwriters, and internal stakeholders regarding subrogation matters.
• Support litigation management efforts and coordinate with external counsel on complex recovery files.
Evidence Management & Vendor Partnerships
• Ensure evidence is properly secured, documented, and maintained according to legal and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain chain-of-custody standards and oversee evidence storage practices.
• Partner with field investigators, engineers, attorneys, and technical experts to support investigations and recovery efforts.
• Monitor vendor utilization to ensure quality service and responsible cost management.
Training & Continuous Improvement
• Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing subrogation training programs for claims staff.
• Share industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to promote team effectiveness.
• Coordinate educational opportunities with external experts and industry partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and support operational excellence.
• Support budget planning and resource management activities related to the subrogation function.
Industry Engagement
• Utilize industry resources, databases, and recovery tools to support investigative and recovery efforts.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain industry knowledge.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for subrogation-related initiatives and professional forums when appropriate.

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
