Faulkner Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate and skilled Full-Time Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Support
    •  Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical interventions.  
    • Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, administering medications, and monitoring anesthesia.  
  • Patient Care:  
    • Provide high-quality care to animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering treatments.  
    • Monitor patient behavior, symptoms, and responses to treatments.  
  • Diagnostic and Laboratory Duties:  
    • Conduct and interpret diagnostic tests including blood work, urinalysis, and radiographs.  
    • Prepare and process laboratory samples, and maintain accurate records.  
  • Client Communication
    •  Educate pet owners on treatment plans, preventive care, and home care instructions.  
    • Address client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.  
  • Administrative Tasks:  
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.  
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing inventory, and ensuring clinic cleanliness. 

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting.  
  • Completion of a relevant veterinary assistant program or equivalent experience, strongly preferred.  
  • Proficiency in performing medical procedures, strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, and excellent technical skills. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.  
  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle animals with care and empathy.
