JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director of Finance will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, including financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project controls, ensuring that financial systems support the successful execution of government contracts, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient project delivery.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNTIONS
- Lead the financial strategy and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement project control systems to track project costs, revenue recognition, and ensure projects stay within budget and on schedule.
- Provide financial insight and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team to drive company growth and profitability.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders including auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.
- Oversee compliance with all federal and state regulations, including those related to government contracts (e.g., FAR, DFARS, CAS).
- Implement and monitor financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting of ongoing projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and financial analysis for new business opportunities, proposals, and contract modifications.
- Collaborate with the recruiting and HR team to ensure financial alignment with workforce planning and organizational development initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial leadership role, preferably within government contracting or similar industry.
- Detail oriented, excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and organization skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to manage and prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, cost management, and government contract compliance.
- Expertise in financial reporting systems, ERP systems, and budgeting tools.
- Deep understanding of federal regulations including FAR, DFARS.
- Proven ability to manage financial risks and ensure compliance in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred)
- Proposal management and marketing experience preferably in the government contracting sector.
