Job Description
AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for Transportation Architecture to join our practice and grow our NY Metro Transportation Architecture market. This position can be located in our New York City office. Our Project Managers work directly with the client and stakeholders to ensure project and program objectives are met. The successful candidate will demonstrate an affinity for maintaining and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budgets while establishing and maintaining excellent client relations.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project/Practice Management
- Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of a project, including the budget, base scope, and additional services
- Assumes responsibility (in partnership with the Market Leader and Project Approver) for financial, technical, and design excellence, overall quality and client satisfaction
- Ensures project documents, including legal documents, contracts, and task orders are reviewed, approved, signed, and filed per the AECOM project management framework
- Manages one or more very complex projects, involving a combination of clients with a national geographic footprint, projects involving a full spectrum of service offerings, or other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
- Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
Project Accounting
- Tracks and reports hours and manages project budget
Communications
- Facilitates team and client meetings
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to the client, team, and internal leadership
- Delivers engaging, informative, and well-organized presentations
Teamwork
- Consistently acknowledges, appreciates, and motivates both individual staff and project team
- Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential
Client Management
- Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations
- Develops lasting relationships with clients and develops opportunities for new projects
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
- Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction
Leadership
- Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related discipline plus ten (10) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including two (2) years of leadership.
- Professional Project Management experience in transportation architecture and/or infrastructure architecture
- Licensed Architect
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has strong relationships with New York Metro transportation agencies such as MTA, LIRR, Metro North, NJ Transit, and PATH
- Ten years of architectural experience
- LEED Certification<
