Overview


Tanaq Government Services (TGS) provides aircraft Transient Alert (TA) Services to the USAF at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. TA services include aircraft management, control, arrival, processing, and departure services for passenger, cargo, and fighter aircraft transiting through SJAFB. TGS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.


About the Role


We are seeking a Project Manager/Aircraft Mechanic I to serve as the site Project Manager to provide onsite Transient Alert Services for aircraft transiting through Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina.


 This is a fully onsite position at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. 


Responsibilities

  • Project Manager responsible for onsite supervision of Tanaq Government Services Transient Alert / Aircraft Washing Operations and project personnel at Seymor Johnson AFB, NC.
  • Supervise and support Transient Alert services to include directing incoming and outgoing aircraft movement activities, aircraft ground handling, and aircraft towing.
  • Supervise a staff of Aircraft Servicers performing Aircraft Wash, Cleaning, and Lubrication Services Rack services on KC-46 aircraft.
  • Responsible for staff crew schedules and work assignments.
  • Services as the Point of Contact (POC) and maintains direct communications with USAF contract management personnel.
  • Oversees Quality Control (QC) of TA and Washing services to assure compliance with USAF contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Assures that all services performed are in compliance with Air Force Technical Orders and guidance as provided by the USAF and/or aircraft maintenance procedures.
  • Aircraft Wash Rack services consisting of, but not limited to, preparing, washing, and lubricating assigned aircraft in accordance with all applicable Technical Orders, work instructions, applicable Aircraft forms/MIS inputs, and checklists.
  • Supervises and supports aircraft refueling / defueling, aircraft marshalling, installation / removal of landing gear safety pins, inspecting aircraft for hot brakes, utilizing ground chocks and ground wires, positioning and operation of Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and fire suppression equipment, positioning staircases and assisting aircrews as required. 
  • Perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
  • Supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft.
  • Operate service vehicles to replenish fuel, oil, water, waste system chemicals, oxygen, and hydraulic fluid, and to remove waste.
  • Document service events into maintenance records, providing a description of the servicing performed.
  • Check for fuel contamination by draining sumps and fuel drains.
  • Operate ground support equipment such as electrical power supply and engine starting units.
  • Examine tires for specified air pressure and condition, assists in jacking and the removal and replaces of defective tires.
  • De-ice aircraft wings and assemblies as required.
  • Load and unload containers of food, beverages.
  • Install drag chutes or retrieve them and send them to parachute shop for repacking.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Requirements


Required Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience supervising Transient Alert and aircraft wash services for military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of documented experience and training as Licensed Airframe and Power Plant technicians or completed formal training in USAF aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from customers and others.
  • Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English.
  • Human relations skills to build effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and common-sense skills.
  • Abide by the Federal Drug-Free workplace policy.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record will be required.
  • Must possess and maintain U.S. security clearances at the minimum classification level of “Secret”, or the ability to obtain a security clearance. Must be able to pass a National Agency Check Investigation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.



Education and Training

  •  High School Diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required)
