Responsibilities
Providence Medical Center is looking for a full time Patient Services Rep to join our growing and dynamic Cardiology Clinic!
The Patient Services Representative duties include, but are not limited to:
- interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
- schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
- verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
- greets and checks in patients
- handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates message
- coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing
- this is a full time day shift position - 8:00a - 4:30p
Must be able to:
- operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data
- communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques
- address customer inquiries, resolve customer complaints
- maintain proficiency in medical terminology
- project a positive and helpful attitude
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- previous experience in a medical setting, preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- Customer Service experience, preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
