GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This remote based Director of Clinical Policy and Procedure position serves as a leader of the Clinical Policy & Procedure (P&P) team at DaVita Kidney Care. The position ensures clinical P&P are developed in accordance with CMS & TJC regulations, as applicable, as well as other applicable federal and state laws. This role provides expertise & leadership oversight to ensure clinical P&P are reviewed on an ongoing basis as regulations change, equipment & technology advance, medical knowledge expands, & upon continuous evaluation of patient safety & quality of care. The position oversees the development, delivery, evaluation, & completion metrics tracking of all clinical P&P training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversees & participates in the creation & updates of clinical P&Ps in accordance with CMS & TJC regulations, as applicable, as well as other applicable federal and state laws.
- Chairs the clinical P&P oversight committee consisting of OCMO, risk, compliance, regulatory & nurse leaders from across multiple lanes.
- Oversees clinical P&P updates twice a year plus any off-cycle releases for both DKC and Integrated Kidney Care (IKC)
- Ensures clinical P&P teammate semi-annual trainings are comprehensive & effective for ICHD, HSG, PD, HHD, Peds, DSD, & completed at a rate of 100% to meet CMS regulations. Identifies, analyzes, & drives continuous improvement opportunities of clinical P&P educational offerings.
- Manages, develops, & trains a team of clinical & non-clinical P&P teammates
- Serves as a clinical P&P expert resource to the field, leadership, & OCMO
- Participates in the oversight and management of electronic clinical P&P document management systems
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned including but not limited to:
- Attend or lead team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
- Know, understand, and follow teammate guidance, employment policies, and department or company procedures
- Travel required: up to 10%
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required)
- Associated Degree in Nursing or higher from accredited school of nursing or three-year diploma from accredited diploma program required, BSN/MSN preferred
- Current RN license in state of practice required
- CNN or CDN required within one year of hire or position change
- Minimum of five (5) years’ nephrology nursing experience required
- Demonstrated expertise in the requirements of the overall management of a nephrology clinical P&P department
- Demonstrated expertise in the ability to ensure clinical P&P are developed in accordance with CMS & TJC regulations, as applicable, as well as other applicable federal and state laws.
- Ability to lead the Clinical P&P Oversight committee ensuring appropriate member participation, documentation, & process that aligns with all applicable regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
