Job Summary
Responsible for managing the daily activities of the Government Regulatory Affairs department at the state, region, or division level. Assists with local regulatory, franchising and public policy matters for assigned geographic area. Sets up processes for tracking compliance with grants, franchise authorities, and other regulatory issues. Implements legislative strategies, monitors legislation and coordinates state association management. May manage a team including exempt and non–exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies. Core Responsibilities
- Manages tracking for compliance of federal grants and other regulatory processes within an assigned geographic area.
- Manages franchise renewal and transfer efforts for assigned franchises consistent with the strategies and policies for the market area at the state, region, or division level.
- Prepares franchise renewal applications and supporting data for renewal negotiations and assists in preparation of renewal strategy.
- Assists in the development of policies and procedures to ensure organizational awareness of government legislation, regulatory/franchising issues, and compliance that affect the organization and responds to the same.
- Organizes, archives, and summarizes agreements and related documents related to completed and ongoing utility negotiations and market expansion efforts.
- Manages special projects related to market expansion and team advocacy efforts.
- Participates in franchise renewal negotiations with municipalities and/or their consultants.
- Supports the government relations and public policy strategy as developed for the market.
- Identifies important municipal issues of significance to the company.
- Drafts, analyzes and/or presents legislation, amendments and testimony as necessary.
- Oversees franchise-required construction installation of complimentary cable services to public buildings, including the negotiation of any additional terms and conditions with Local Franchise Authorities (FLA).
- Reviews, interprets and communicates meanings of the terms and conditions of franchises, franchise-related agreements and other contracts for implementation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manages service complaints associated with complimentary services.
- Oversees additional duties related to community affairs.
- Proficient in Excel
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Primary Location Pay Range: $106,798.19 - $160,197.28Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
