About the role

Salary: $70,000 - 100,000/yearThis position allows for 3 days per week remote / work from home. We are seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in Timberline software and a background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the company's financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, using Timberline software.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, tracking variances, and providing insights to management.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs, analyze cost trends, and collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are within budget.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, such as profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and variance analysis, to support decision-making.
  • Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax planning strategies.
  • Financial Systems Management: Maintain and optimize Timberline software, troubleshoot issues, and train team members on system usage.
  • Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external audits, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and implement internal controls.
  • Financial Planning: Contribute to strategic financial planning initiatives, identify opportunities for process improvements, and drive efficiency in financial operations.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, providing financial expertise and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Timberline software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
