About the role

The Head of Infrastructure Resiliency is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining strategies, as well as plans to ensure the continuity of business operations in the event of a disaster (with a focus on the recovery of systems). The lead is responsible for creating disaster recovery plans, coordinating recovery efforts, conducting regular testing and reporting results, and identifying and managing risks related to this domain. The Head of Infrastructure Resiliency works closely with business resiliency, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and application support teams to review IT resiliency requirements, solution adoption, plans, and recovery test cycles. The lead establishes a framework and methodology to manage business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance, and updates.

This role will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.

This position is remote-work capable; however, Corebridge Financial is looking for candidates who can work in Eastern or Central time zones.

  • Ownership and accountability of IT resiliency operational services and data resiliency.
  • Supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations.
  • Define the IT resiliency and recovery model for maintaining service availability and data resiliency in disaster recovery situations and supporting continuous IT modernization.
  • Jointly work with enterprise/application/infrastructure teams to manage and track the implementation of required system resiliency designs, configurations, and visibility.
  • Execute system recovery strategies for on-premises, co-hosted, Cloud (AWS and Azure), SaaS applications, and MFaaS (Kyndryl) systems.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop operational/disaster recovery plans and test schedules.
  • Coordinate operational/disaster recovery plan testing with IT teams and consolidate the test results.
  • Review results with IT teams, identify areas of improvement based on test results, and ensure plans are updated accordingly.
  • Partner with IT, Enterprise Resiliency, and Risk Management teams to implement proactive strategies and process enforcements to improve IT resiliency capabilities.  
  • Monitor and validate that IT resiliency solutions designs and implementations align with Corebridge Financial Business and IT objectives with required resource capacity, failover and recovery flow, and data recovery capabilities to meet business Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), and business service levels.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partner teams to ensure appropriate resources and IT resiliency capabilities are planned and budgeted to meet resiliency and recovery requirements.
  • Own the Disaster Recovery Standard and review it periodically to ensure it aligns with the operating environment and reflects associated controls.
  • Promote standard operating procedure documentation, knowledge base, and restoration checklist to improve the quality of disaster recovery technical documentation and recovery system architecture.
  • Support continual process improvement initiatives and lead IT resiliency, operational efficiency, and team effectiveness projects.
  • Own the Corebridge Financial IT Disaster Recovery plans.

What we are looking for

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of Technical & management experience. 
  • Proven experience in architectural and solution capabilities to implement IT resiliency infrastructure/application designs and process frameworks to monitor, govern, and test the effectiveness of resiliency capabilities in enterprise and complex environments, including on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
