About the role

Overview

The Center for the School of the Future (CSF) at Utah State University seeks a Senior Fellow to assist with the growing interest in, and expansion of, Teacher Academy Schools/Teacher Apprenticeship programs in Utah schools. The Senior Fellow is a part time position. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong record of professional experience with senior level executive appointments in education and with expertise in an area aligned with CSF interests. Appropriate candidates will demonstrate a strong record of successful senior level public school superintendent appointment history.

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.  

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Center’s leadership, staff, and other CSF Fellows to identify, implement, and evaluate K-12 improvements leading to enhanced student academic learning.
  • Assist CSF leadership and staff and other Fellows in designing testable interventions, programs, or systems to improve K-12 student academic learning.
  • Assist CSF leadership and staff and other Fellows with K-12 visioning to improve K-12 student academic learning outcomes.
  • Work with Utah school district leaders to plan, implement and evaluate school training supports leading to improvements in K-12 student academic learning.
  • Work with Utah school district and charter school leaders to plan and implement Teacher Academy Schools/Teacher Apprenticeship programs.
  • Assist CSF director in fund raising efforts to support sponsored programs.v

Qualifications

  • Breadth of successful experience working in school leadership including public school executive position at the Superintendent level.
  • Successful experience working with university programs to implement school embedded teacher preparation apprenticeship or teacher internship programming in public schools.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with K-12 school leadership and other educational personnel.
  • Demonstrates success in working collaboratively with Utah policy makers leading to improved educational outcomes.
  • Evidence of an innovative mindset to identify, implement, evaluate solutions for vexing challenges in public education.
  • Evidence of success if seeking and obtaining funding to develop, implement and evaluate public school improvements leading to strong student academic learning.
  • Evidence of the ability to align work efforts with previous organizations missions, vision and values.
