The Benefits Senior Associate as part of the Wellbeing & Rewards Center of Expertise, must possess a broad knowledge of key health & welfare benefit principles and procedures in order to execute on key initiatives and support the Benefits COE with strategy, design and benefits management for programs in the US and Canada. The Benefits Senior Associate supports the Benefits COE with executing health & welfare program changes, managing vendor relationships, executing the benefits and compliance calendar. The Benefits Senior Associate also specializes in delivering concierge experience to key stakeholders.
Essential Duties:
- Supports the Benefits COE with benefits vendor accountability, review and outcomes analysis.
- Supports the Benefits Manager by executing on health & welfare benefits strategy
- In collaboration with the Benefits Manager, third party consultants and counsel, develops and maintains an annual health plan compliance calendar. Including the completion of annual 5500 filings and non-discrimination testing
- In coordination with Talent Operations Benefits Administration Team, the Benefits Senior Associate handles escalated and complex issues and works with third party vendors to resolve the issue and provides follow up direction and education to the Talent Operations Benefits Team.
- In coordination third-party vendors, the Benefits Senior Associate supports the Benefits COE with the management and design of the health & welfare plans,) and overall wellbeing programs.
- The Benefits Senior Associate supports the Benefits COE with the management and design of the extended health plan and wellbeing programs for RSM Canada.
- Demonstrates and develops subject matter expertise in the area of health & welfare benefits.
- Additionally, the Benefit Associate coordinates the annual audit of various plans and supports compliance initiatives
- The Benefits Senior Associate supports the Benefits Manager with the diligence and planning process related to the benefits impact of an acquisition.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- GBA/CEBS certification
- 5 years of relevant benefit experience
- 5 years working in a collaborative environment
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERISA, cafeteria plan rules and regulations applicable legislation (including but not limited to ACA, COBRA, HIPAA)
- Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy during the process of educating, mentoring and coaching staff and business partners
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality

- Ability to work well under pressure; meet established targets and goals in a high volume, fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize work and consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
