Overview
The Associate Director, Clinical Applications, will oversee the management and development of clinical applications within our research and development (R&D) environment. This role involves collaborating with an IT managed services provider to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of clinical systems, and working with cross-functional teams to support clinical research and development activities.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Application Management:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of clinical applications.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of clinical data within the applications.
- Collaborate with the IT managed services provider and related vendors to integrate clinical applications with other systems.
- Project Management:
- Lead projects related to the development and enhancement of clinical applications.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with clinical research teams to understand their needs and provide application support.
- Facilitate communication between clinical teams, the IT managed services provider, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the Clinical Applications function in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in clinical applications.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the effectiveness of clinical applications.
Requirements
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in related field (Life Sciences, Information Technology, Clinical Research); Advanced degree preferred
Experience:
Min 7 years’ experience in clinical applications management or related role; experience in CRO preferred
Skills:
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, electronic data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial management systems (CTMS).
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical research processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in clinical applications and related technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to travel as required by role. Limited overnight travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Position requires: ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about conference or meeting locations as required; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
