Product Development Manager - Technology Platform

About the Platforms team

The Platforms team at LumenRadio consists of dedicated engineers who lay a stable foundation for LumenRadio's product portfolio. The team selects, refines and develops technology into a platform used by our product development teams. Taking on strategic technical responsibility ranging from hardware to software, the team ensures the future development of our tech stack and products. The Platforms team is responsible for developing our proprietary embedded OS and low-power network stack Mira. We proudly claim that Mira is the world's most reliable and energy-efficient mesh network, made possible by our patented technology for adaptive frequency hopping.

Your future

We are seeking a Product Development Manager responsible for our Technology Platform, contributing to the future development of MiraOS and the software within the Platforms team. You will play a crucial role in LumenRadios future roadmaps by providing architectural expertise and investigating new technical opportunities. Your recommendations will influence both our technology and our way of working.

In this role, you will serve as the Product Manager, Product Owner, and the team's line manager, while also remaining involved in the technical development. We are looking for someone who not only leads but is also willing to contribute hands-on when needed.

In short, you will: 

• Lead a team of six engineers, consisting of Embedded Software Developers, an Embedded DevOps Engineer and a Production Test Engineer, while contributing to improving our agile processes.
• Actively engage in technical discussions and contribute to development efforts when needed.
• Collaborate with other teams to deeply understand requirements, expectations, and needs of the technology platform and drive its continuous development.
• Effectively manage internal and external stakeholders while translating requirements into a clear and actionable technical roadmap.
  
• Contribute to the technical architecture and take part in high-level design decisions, while ensuring a practical implementation mindset.
• Conduct technical research and monitor technological development for potential exploitation.

About you

We are looking for a leader with strong self-leadership and sense of responsibility, who enjoys both leading and actively working with technology. We believe you are pragmatic and possess the ability to handle complex information and systems holistically, considering various implications and stakeholders while prioritizing different requirements. 

To succeed in this role, we believe you have: 

• A passion for leadership and a strong commitment to developing your team.
  
• A B.Sc or M.Sc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in managing architecture for embedded products/platforms.
• A solid understanding of low-level embedded C programming and toolchains, with a willingness to remain technically involved.
• A basic understanding of wireless technology and RF.
• A basic understanding of network stacks and the OSI model.
• Experience with CI/CD and test infrastructure involving hardware-in-the-loop.
• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in English
