Job Summary
A highly skilled Senior Security Engineer is responsible for enhancing our Security Platform. They will possess extensive experience across a broad range of technologies and security domains, enabling them to assess and determine the technical functional behavior and limitations of both first-party and third-party applications integrated within our platform.

In this role, the Security Engineer will be tasked with designing and delivering a robust API that encapsulates a Security Platform service, effectively abstracting the underlying technologies used to meet service requirements.

Responsibilities

Security Architecture

  • Collaborate with Product Management team and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

  • Analyze and evaluate the technical capabilities and limitations of various applications within the Security Platform

  • Research the best technologies to use to publish the Security Platform APIs

  • Researches security best practices for API and all related technology components required

  • Identify how to leverage the capabilities of the Security Platform to fulfill the Service APIs

Security Engineering

  • Develop the API layer, including identifying the required technologies, orchestration components, and security controls for the APIs

  • Delivers fully functional APIs (including all corresponding collateral) that leverage existing Security Platform optimally

  • Ensuring that the API adheres to publish SLA & SLOs, and includes instrumentation that allows monitoring adherence

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of the API to ensure reliability and performance

  • Responsible for anticipating technical roadblocks and escalating issues

Security Operations

  • Operates and troubleshoots the Security Platform APIs to ensure delivery of required service in adherence with the published SLAs & SLOs

Security Incident Response

  • Investigates, researches and analyzes security incidents as they are escalated or reported

Qualifications

  • 5 years progressive experience in system analysis, requirements gathering and application implementation

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Computer Science, Business or Information Management or equivalent experience

  • A deep understanding of security technologies, protocols, and best practices

  • A deep understanding of technologies required in delivery of RESTful APIs, including containerization, API gateway, service orchestration, and IAMsecurity protocols

  • Excellent communication skills and cross-functional organizational ability to influence others

  • Prioritizes platform requirements, influence roadmap, and strategy, and driving impact with the rest of the business stakeholders

  • Strong technical skills and experience, as well as an extraordinary passion for software development and delivering high-quality products

  • Extraordinary written and communication skills having worked with executive management

  • Passion for providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
