Summary of Role:
The Career Consultant/Executive Coach will support the delivery of coaching, career development, and leadership training programs for a leading federal agency in the healthcare sector. This position involves providing executive coaching, career consulting services, supporting assessment administration, and assisting in the development of custom courses to enhance the agency's workforce capabilities.
Important note: This is a full-time position contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive coaching to agency leaders and managers
  • Deliver career consulting services, including one-on-one consultations and group workshops
  • Administer leadership assessments and provide individual and group debriefs
  • Assist in the development and delivery of custom leadership and management courses
  • Facilitate workshops, retreats, and training sessions for agency employees
  • Collaborate with and support team members in program design and delivery
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of coaching and training programs using agency-provided tools and industry best practices
  • Prepare reports on coaching engagements and training outcomes
  • Ensure all coaching and training materials are Section 508 compliant
  • Support career pathing initiatives and help employees develop robust Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through coaching and career development activities
  • Assist in the design and facilitation of mentoring programs
  • Support the implementation of federal career development frameworks
  • Develop and deliver career development workshops on topics such as personal branding, networking, and career transitions
  • Create scalable career development resources for use across the organization
  • Contribute to the design of talent mobility programs to enhance internal career progression

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership development, and career consulting
  • ICF certification (ACC level minimum)
  • Experience coaching mid-level to senior managers in professional settings
  • Knowledge of leadership competency models and assessment tools
  • Ability to design and deliver effective training programs
  • Familiarity with various coaching methodologies and career development frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients at various organizational levels
  • Knowledge of federal agency operations, culture, and HR policies
  • Familiarity with federal human capital frameworks and OPM's HR University resources
  • Understanding of adult learning principles
  • Experience with data-driven decision making and analytics in coaching and career development contexts
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with or willingness to obtain necessary security clearances for working with federal agencies
  • In-depth knowledge of career development theories and their practical application
  • Experience with various career assessment tools and inventories
  • Proficiency in designing and facilitating group coaching sessions
  • Understanding of workforce trends and their impact on career development strategies

Nice to Haves

  • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, CPLP)
  • Experience in healthcare or public sector organizations
  • Knowledge of human-centered design principles
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and their application in coaching and training
  • Certification in specific career development methodologies (e.g., Certified Career Management Coach)
  • Experience integrating technology into career development initiatives (e.g., e-learning, virtual coaching platforms)
