What this job involves:

This position requires a skilled technician to perform chiller preventive maintenance work across a designated geographic territory. You'll be hands-on with water and air cooled chiller systems while identifying energy savings opportunities, conducting quality control audits, and providing technical support to local engineering teams. This truck-based role requires travel within your territory and daily interaction with engineering personnel.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Performing annual and semi-annual preventive maintenance on water and air cooled chiller systems
• Executing repairs on cooling towers, pumps, and various chiller equipment
• Conducting energy audits to identify system improvements for reduced energy consumption
• Providing technical assistance and support to engineering teams throughout the territory
• Performing building evaluations and recommending operational improvements
• Conducting quality control inspections and preparing deficiency reports
• Traveling to various locations within your assigned geographic area
• Communicating with local engineering teams via phone, email, and in-person meetings

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs with focus on chiller maintenance
• Universal EPA Certification
• Vocational degree program, apprenticeship completion, or comparable work experience
• Hands-on repair skills across various chiller manufacturers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors
• Knowledge of relevant codes, laws, and regulations affecting commercial real estate operations
• Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, web-based applications, and handheld devices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service orientation with ability to assess needs and evaluate satisfaction

Preferred:

• Experience with energy efficiency improvements in commercial HVAC systems
• Mentoring or training experience to help develop skills in engineering team members
• Knowledge of multiple chiller system manufacturers and equipment types
• Experience preparing technical reports and documentation
