Job Description Summary

All activities providing the necessary support on pre- and post-contractual administration & management , Terms & Conditions of the contract and the Management of claims. Also involves definition, management, and execution of risk modeling activities in support of the contract or project. Also involves definition, management, and execution of contract estimating processes and activities to support tenders and project reviews. Owns/influences budgets and operating plans. The role is guided by operating policy. Works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or Family within a Function or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Contract & Compliance Leadership
    • Ensure all contractors remain fully compliant with the terms and conditions of their respective subcontracts, protecting project integrity and minimizing risk exposure.
    • Oversee and ensure organizational compliance with all subcontractual obligations and commercial commitments.
    • Lead the strategic management, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of contractual claims in alignment with contractual provisions and company procedures.
  • Commercial & Program Management
    • Own profitability and customer satisfaction for assigned contracts, driving both financial performance and operational excellence.
    • Provide leadership for service agreements and time & materials program management.
    • Support commercial growth by assisting in sales campaigns, new contract pursuits, and proposal development.
    • Ensure timely resolution of customer issues while strengthening long-term customer partnerships.
  • Strategic & Operational Impact
    • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices that enhance products, processes, and services.
    • Apply deep industry knowledge and awareness of nuclear and power generation trends to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts within complex manufacturing and construction environments.
    • Evaluate information critically, challenge conflicting data, and leverage diverse internal and external resources to drive informed decisions.
    • Present business and technical solutions to leadership and influence stakeholders to align on key objectives.
    • Negotiate effectively with internal and external partners to achieve optimal commercial and operational outcomes.
  • Leadership & Execution
    • Lead functional teams or moderate-to-high complexity projects with defined resource, risk, and performance objectives.
    • Drive accountability across subcontractors and internal stakeholders to ensure disciplined execution from early site works through project completion.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, transparency, and continuous improvement consistent with GE Vernova values.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of power generation construction project execution experience, including on-site leadership, familiarity with union and non-union environments, and knowledge of full construction sequencing from early site works through final completion.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction contract management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of nuclear power plant experience.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This position is based at our headquarters in Wilmington, NC but qualified remote candidates will be considered.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites and to travel to headquarters as needed.

Desired Characteristics

  • Professional certification such as CFCM, CCCM, CCPM (preferred).
  • Highly motivated, organized, and customer-focused, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and shifting priorities in both independent and collaborative environments.
  • Demonstrated hands-on leadership of large, site-based power generation projects from a technical and/or commercial perspective.
  • Extensive experience negotiating and managing complex construction contracts (T&M, FPLS, consortium-based, prime/sub structures, etc.).
  • Proven experience leading teams with direct reports and overseeing subcontractor performance.
  • Familiarity with major construction firms and EPC organizations within the power generation industry.
