About the role

Who we are looking for State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is one of the largest global asset managers and the only one with an Investment Centre in Poland.  This position is for a Portfolio Manager and Team Leader within the Investment Solutions Group (ISG) of SSGA, our multi-asset class investment team. For more than three decades, ISG has developed asset class-spanning products and services aimed at helping our clients realize their diverse goals. Our team is global with offices in Boston, London, Krakow and other investment centres around the world.

The Portfolio Manager and Team Head, Investment Solution Group, Vice President (600) is a key role within Poland team, and as a part of the wider EMEA team, will be focused on managing multi-asset investment strategies for our clients. In this capacity, the Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the daily management of complex portfolios, effectuating portfolio trades, managing ETF trade baskets, managing cash flow and collateral needs, delivering on performance objectives, interacting with clients and prospects, and monitoring and maintaining portfolio positioning for ISG’s clients.


This position also requires leadership experience to lead a team of 4 to 6 portfolio managers / SMEs (Officer/AVP level) with overall responsibility of work produced from ISG Poland. The successful candidate will have hands on experience in portfolio management and team leadership as a head of local team and will be reporting to the EMEA head of ISG.

This is a Hybrid role which requires office presence on a weekly basis (3 days).
 

What you will be responsible for:

As ISG Portfolio Manager you will be focusing your day to day activity on:

  • Multi-asset class portfolio management including setting strategic and tactical asset allocation policy, in particular designing and managing portfolio solutions.
  • Manage client cash flows and portfolio rebalancing by executing portfolio transactions
  • Conduct portfolio analysis to consider appropriate position sizing and risk budgeting given client risk tolerances and current positioning.
  • Client engagement both in maintaining and driving new business requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interacting with clients, prospects and gatekeepers in the model portfolio industry.
  • Active participation in ongoing research efforts, process improvement, and product development.
  • Contributions to thought leadership efforts that highlight ISG’s market insights and research relevant to the US Institutional and Wealth markets
  • Act as the lead on projects when needed within the team as well as with internal business partners to fulfil all necessary requirements.
  • Act as a local escalation point for all ISG Poland matters and main point of contact for functional stakeholders. Escalate issues to ISG functional and local entity management.

As Poland ISG Team Head you will

  • Team management with full process knowledge, requiring minimal support on more complex issues and SME to the core portfolio management activities.
  • Lead or significantly contribute in onboarding new business (clients or/and funds) directed to ISG Poland team.
  • Manage cross training initiative within the team to ensure all responsibilities are covered.
  • Build a strong, cohesive work environment and drive team engagement with learning, development, and other opportunities within Krakow office
  • Work closely with matrix manager (Branch COO) on HR regulatory, staff engagement aspects, local initiatives and people agenda aspects.
  • Act as an active member of local management team (forum of team heads of AVP/VPs), contributing to Branch strategy planning & execution, as and when needed
