Warehouse Inbound Manager

Description

Overview: VP Supply Corp, one of the nation’s largest distributors of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies, is seeking an Inbound Manager with a strong background in inventory and receiving management. This position is based in our Syracuse branch and offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding team.

Position Summary: The Inbound Manager will oversee the receiving and inventory operations, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of inbound shipments. This role requires a motivated self-starter with excellent judgment, communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the receiving team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inbound shipments.
• Oversee and improve warehouse receiving processes, including inspecting product deliveries for damage and compliance with purchase orders.
• Develop and enforce inventory management procedures, including documentation and tracking systems.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, receivers, and staff to facilitate smooth operations.
• Stage loading and unloading areas with appropriate equipment and materials.
• Provide training and daily work assignments to staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.
• Handle staffing needs, participate in hiring processes, and conduct quarterly performance reviews.
• Manage disciplinary actions and complete necessary internal paperwork.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed, ensuring safe and efficient movement of inventory.
• Investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and coach team members to improve performance.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, communicating low levels to relevant personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, order selection, packing, and/or stocking of products.
• At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze and resolve issues.
• Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Suite and data entry systems.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
• Flexibility with work schedule; overtime may be required.
• Reliable daily transportation to the branch location.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift training (internal training provided if necessary).
• Product knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical materials.
• Experience with inventory management software and warehouse management systems.
• Familiarity with SHIMS ERP system.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• High-traffic warehouse environment exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift 50-75 pounds.
• Flexibility to ensure completion of all orders and job duties by the end of shift.
