Job Description

The Future Talent Program features Cooperative (Co-op) education that lasts up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Research and Development Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.


The Future Talent Program within our Company Research Lab's department of Data, AI, and Genome Sciences is offering co-op opportunities that last a period of six months. Within Data, AI, and Genome Sciences, the Scientific Operations and Project Management team focuses on broadly accelerating work across the department by automating genomic data management and processing workflows, as well as developing interactive dashboards to surface key information from across scientific teams to, supporting leadership decision-making and enabling scientific project tracking. Our small team aims to constantly reduce friction, increase accuracy and transparency to enable impactful ‘omics analysis in the discovery of novel targets and therapeutics.

These projects are designed to enable students to further develop their skills and to evaluate if we are the right company for their long-term goals. 
 
Scientific Operations & Project Management (1 position, Cambridge MA – on site or remote):


•    Develop, improve and maintain automated pipelines for genomic data ingestion, processing, and quality control to streamline scientific workflows and enable rapid downstream analysis.
•    Design and implement interactive dashboards and data visualization tools to provide real-time insights into project progress, data quality metrics, and more. Create views with different levels of resolution into the data based on different stakeholders’ needs. Focus on generalizable, modular components which can be re-used across projects. 
•    Support project management by automating tracking and reporting of key scientific milestones. Collaborate with leadership and scientific teams to understand key performance indicators and inputs for decision making. Translate these needs into scalable, user-friendly software solutions.

Required Education and Skills:


•    Candidates must be currently enrolled in a minimum of a Bachelor's degree program in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field of study.
•    Students enrolled in graduate programs (MS or PhD) are highly encouraged to apply. 
•    Candidates must be available to work full-time for 6 months in 2026.  
•    Candidates must have strong proficiency in Python programming.
 
Preferred Experience and Skills:


•    Candidates should have experience with data visualization libraries and dashboard frameworks (e.g., Plotly along with Streamlit, Shiny for Python, or Dash).
•    Candidates should have experience with Linux bash commands and scripts
•    Candidates should have familiarity with genomic data formats, bioinformatics workflows, and experience with AWS and AWS CLI.
•    Candidates should have knowledge of automation tools and workflow management systems (e.g., Snakemake, Nextflow, or similar).
•    Candidates should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
•    Candidates should have superior communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to work well in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment.

Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Salary range:

The salary range for this role is $39,600.00-$105,500.00 USD
