Summary:
In this role, you will provide leadership and strategic direction to support delivery of value-based care to generate new pharmacy program opportunities with Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) member organizations, CHA Staff, pediatric suppliers. You will develop and implement innovative pediatric pharmaceutical support in collaboration with Vizient leadership, staff, distribution, and supplier partners to optimize contract coverage to deliver cost-effective care and enhance patient outcomes. You will deliver clinical and operational resources, initiative-based cost savings analysis, and contracting and revenue opportunities to highly committed and engaged CHA Hospitals. You will maintain existing and new pharmacy program opportunities by collaborating and coordinating with consultants, leadership, and SMEs to meet stakeholder needs through the execution of contracting, advisory, compliance, policy, and analytics services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver customized quarterly presentations to share metrics, reports, value, and new opportunities; creates new quarterly presentation templates and procedures.
- Use depth and breadth of capability to lead increasingly complex projects to generate strategic insight, direct and manage projects, influence members and deliver value.
- Use depth of expertise to lead work efforts that drive member value by providing insightful analytics and consulting advice / services that drive decision making.
- Develop new and maintain current relationships with assigned stakeholders (leaders up to and including the C Suite level).
- Support business development activities by leveraging relationships (leaders up to and including C Suite level) to generate leads and participates in closing new contracts.
- Communicate expertise and a compelling business case with clarity and confidence to senior executive-level audiences to influence change, decision making or garner necessary support.
- Understand analytics and articulate findings to members that influence decision- making and behaviors.
- Make decisions about priorities, timing, scope, and resources to execute on expected value.
- Facilitate and lead meetings and discussions with CHA member pharmacy leadership that drives decision making.
- Operationalize, develop, and implement business strategies and enterprise solutions plans by contributing to practice development, writing proposals, attending conference, participating in speaking engagements, generating ideas for new products/services, etc.
- Lead efforts with Vizient pharmacy tools and contracting resources to seek pharmacy enhancements and unique value with pharmaceutical suppliers for CHA.
- Assist in the expansion of CHA specific portfolio of custom and enhanced pharmacy contracts driving value beyond Vizient’s national pharmacy program.
- Aggregate data across systems to create a comprehensive view of stakeholder activities; connect stakeholders to pharmacy analytics offerings and technology applications.
Qualifications:
- A Pharmacy degree is required. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred. Master’s degree in business and/or Health Administration is a plus.
- 7 or more years of pediatric experience in pharmacy with key institution leadership engagement such as CEO, COO, CMO, CNO, CPO is required.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the member organization is required.
- Advanced practice in 340B, ambulatory, clinical, and acute care operations is required.
- Advanced functional knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Completion of an ASHP approved pediatric pharmacy residency program preferred.
- Board Certification in Pediatric Pharmacy preferred.
- Experience as a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Manager preferred.
- Experience with Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities is preferred.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical suppliers in creation and presentation of member opportunities preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify opportunities, create solutions, and implement strategies.
