Starting wage: $24 per hour
This positions is part time, after school, 2.5 hours per day.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision and in accordance with District policies, procedures, and guidelines, the Lead Site Instructor supervises an assigned group of children. The Lead Site Instructor will help to provide the necessary physical and emotional care while carrying out developmental activities. The employee will help develop goals for the children, and evaluate each child's progress. The employee is responsible for communicating with families and assisting in the leadership of Site Instructors and the program in general, serving as a substitute Site Coordinator as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist and supervise children during all activities.
- Ensure site cleanliness and safe environment are maintained.
- Complete all site paperwork such as daily notes, accident/ incident reports, and daily attendance records.
- Implement lesson plans, programs, organization, and program schedule.
- If the Site Coordinator is unavailable, take full responsibility for the site.
- Communicate effectively with all families and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality for all families and staff.
- Engage and support staff members in implementing program activities to achieve program goals.
- Develop relationships with partner staff, families, and the local community.
- Maintain knowledge of children's intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and character development and the importance of supporting their development.
- Participate in professional development and program related training as assigned.
- Show professionalism in all aspects of the position; timeliness, punctuality, attitude, attention to detail, integrity, and ability to positively interact with all of our employees and stakeholders.
- Respect cultural diversity and create an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Hold an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in education, youth development, or another related field.
- Possess the ability to nurture children and plan and implement age appropriate activities.
- Ability to interact with families in a professional manner and build the trust necessary to handle daily communication with families effectively.
- Ability to take direction and work cooperatively with all staff members.
- Ability to supervise a group of children while attending to the immediate needs of one child.
- Possesses strong leadership skills, is able to multitask, and pays attention to detail.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Has a valid driver's license or access to reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND SKILLS:
- Has prior experience in after school and expanded learning programs, either in a school or a community based setting.
- Physically and mentally able to perform essential duties without hazard to oneself and others.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, lift, and carry 20 pounds of materials.
- Able to resolve challenging situations productively and without personalization.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in adverse weather situations.
