Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

  • April 8 – April 26: Applications Open (may close early due to applicant volume)  
  • Mid April – Late May: First round video interviews   
  • Early – Mid June: Second round interviews  
  • Late June – Early July: Selected candidates receive offers  

Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program: 

  • Applications Close: April 26th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!  
  • Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025  
  • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules. 
  • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Global Video Engineering, VOD Workflows: The Global Video Engineering VOD Workflows team is a Software Engineering team responsible for designing, implementing, testing and operating a video processing supply chain for Video On Demand (VOD) titles across all the Global Streaming Technology products: Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and more. The software system processes several thousand titles per day for viewing across 67 countries around the world.  We also process content for special events such as the Summer and Winter Olympics, and collaborate with teams across the United States, the UK and Europe to achieve success. Our team has a need for an energetic, curious, and ambitious individual to immerse themselves into our Quality Engineering team.  This team is responsible for making sure that the software we build works as expected when processing VOD titles for our streaming platforms.  We test our software daily, and we are currently working on making these tests automatic, which is where we will need assistance the most. 

  • Video Player Technology: Global Video Engineering department builds streaming platform that powers well-known brands such as Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, NOW, and 30+ more across the world. Our streaming video SDK is at the forefront of technology, leveraging modern video codecs, adaptive bitrate streaming, low-latency streaming, and support for live streaming. We ensure seamless playback across various platforms, including web browsers, smart TVs, gaming consoles, and streaming media devices. This compatibility allows us to reach a wide audience and provide exceptional streaming experiences regardless of the device or operating system. Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program. 
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
