About the Postdoctoral Clinical Product Fellow at Headspace Health:

Length: 1 year

We’re looking for a Postdoctoral Clinical Product Fellow to join our growing Science team and help Headspace Health deliver on our vision of a world where everyone is kind to their mind, by transforming mental healthcare to improve the health and happiness of the world. (N.B - This opportunity will not involve the delivery of therapy services, and will not count towards accrual of clinical hours for licensure. It also is separate from the Ginger Training Institute.)

The Clinical Product Postdoc will have the unique opportunity to independently lead and support a variety of projects within the Clinical Product team, for both the Headspace and Ginger products and services. You will sit alongside cross-functional collaborators from Product, Design, Engineering, etc. developing Member experiences that promote health outcomes and behavior change. You will leverage your formal education and subject matter expertise in the provision of psychotherapy and evidence- based interventions, to develop best in class Member Experiences that deliver engaging and delightful evidence-based interventions.

This role is ideal for an applicant with a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology, or other fields of study that focus on embedding principles of clinical science into care provision. The ideal candidate will have completed a predoctoral APPIC-accredited clinical internship, as well as possess strong research methodology skills, familiarity with study protocol design, and working knowledge of statistical approaches and analyses.

This is an excellent position for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and would like to explore careers in the digital mental health industry. You’ll work with talented individuals within the Science team, as well as across other functions, and leverage your publication and applied research skills.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace Health:

  • Contribute to and inform the development of Member Experiences that promote health outcomes
  • Develop behavioral and clinical science points of view that serve as the blueprint for the Member experience
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts from other functions, marrying diverse perspectives to create the ideal Member Experience
  • Support project and team coordination as needed.

What you’ve accomplished:

  • Recent Ph.D. with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology, or other Mental Health fields of study that focus on embedding principles of clinical science into care provision.
  • Demonstrated record of leading research projects or program development from beginning to end.
  • Strong scientific writing and statistical skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of research methods to evaluate clinical outcomes, including RCTs and RWE studies.
  • (Preferred but not required) Experience in the development of digital phone-based programs and applications 
  • (Preferred but not required) Previous experience working in highly collaborative teams, as a subject matter expert alongside other subject matter experts of different disciplines.
  • (Preferred but not required) Experience providing care within a multidisciplinary Mental Health setting (i.e. collaborative care models)

Other Skills and Qualities:

  • Superior writing, communication, project management, and problem solving skills
  • Experience using GSuite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally  in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, comfort with ambiguity
  • Interest in digital health / health and wellness industry 
  • Mission-driven personality
