Purpose
The Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations will manage alumni relations and development programs related to annual giving, young alumni, and current students.
Responsibilities
ANNUAL GIVING: Execute the Law School’s annual giving fundraising efforts by developing and implementing an effective strategy for the Law School to secure annual gifts from students, alumni, and firms, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Devise and implement strategies to increase new donor acquisition and strengthen and expand the donor pipeline to major gifts by visiting with leadership annual giving level prospects. Execute the 100% Giving Challenge, a firm/company-based giving program aimed at building participation among alumni, and managing volunteers associated with the program. Encourage and acknowledge annual fund gifts through letters, emails, phone calls, and visits.
YOUNG ALUMNI AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: Develop a culture of philanthropy and Alumni Association presence throughout current law student life, including executing the 3L Giving Campaign, Thanks Day, and managing associated volunteers and events. Implement strategies to build community among graduates of the last decade that connect them to each other and the School of Law. Manage Young Alumni Regional Committees and be the point of contact for student and young alumni initiatives.
TECHNICAL CAPACITY: Working with the Director of Data Management, develop segmentation strategies, track activity, and provide regular reporting and analysis of annual giving campaign results. Create metrics to measure the success of annual giving campaigns. Keep up with annual giving and young alumni engagement trends and strategies and make recommendations for program advancement.
Oversee the Law School’s involvement in university-wide annual giving efforts, including but not limited to 40 for Forty and Thanks Day.
Work with the Chief Development Officer and Director of Alumni Relations on other projects, programs, and tasks as assigned.
Other related responsibilities and functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in development and/or alumni relations. Proven project management skills with the ability to set priorities, task switch, and manage multiple projects. Experience managing volunteers and leading programs. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive, beneficial relationships with a broad range of colleagues and constituencies. Ability to work collaboratively or independently with minimal supervision. Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and mail merge, PowerPoint). Proficiency with CRM systems
