About the role
Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge.
For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.
Apex manufactures these satellite buses as scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more.
We’d love for you to join us on our mission of providing humankind access to the galaxy beyond our planet.
Apex is a product-first company. As Product Manager at Apex, you take ownership over our three core satellite bus product lines: Aries, Nova, and Comet. Reporting directly to the CEO, you are responsible for interfacing between business development, engineering, mission management, and the production teams.
You will own all three products and associated offerings (e.g. launch integration) and drive the definition of each. This work includes determining satellite bus features and performance, future releases, and configuration packages. In addition, you will be responsible for determining how to introduce the product to market, both from a marketing and technical perspective. This product job sits at the intersection of every organization at Apex, and as such, you are responsible for the initial customer research, market feedback, and understanding industry demands as you define the product specifications for each platform.
The mission of Apex’s Product Manager to own responsibility for each of Apex’s products, ensuring they meet the needs of our customers and can be produced at scale.
