We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Gaithersburg MD with a design-assist specialty contractor
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year depending on experience

Responsibilities for Senior Account Specialist:
- Full accounting system management of QuickBooks for PCC, RLP Investments and Lindbergh Condominiums which includes managing chart of accounts, maintain customer/vendor lists and employee/payroll for PCC.
- Receive invoices from vendors and subcontractors, review for accuracy, ask subcontractors for any missing documents (i.e. contracts, certified payroll reports, COI’s, Wrap-up insurance reporting, first source reporting, etc.) post to QuickBooks, give to Project Managers for approval, mark as approved in QuickBooks, pay in timely manner within due date and prepare and send release of liens to required vendors/subcontractors.
- Reviews supplier invoices related to the project, enter them into QuickBooks, give to Project Managers weekly for approval and clear them for payment once they are approved by the Project Executives.
- Reviews overhead charges to be applied to a project (i.e. allocation of employee benefits and W/C/GL costs to projects).
- Work with Project Managers and Project Executives to get monthly AIA billing to the GC, you will need to review it, have the Project Executive sign the AIA document along with all other release of liens and billing paperwork, then notarize and send to GC by due date monthly (which may also include procuring paperwork for stored materials i.e. Bill of Sale, COI and ask Project Managers for pictures).
- Reports on project profitability to management via job cost reports weekly and WIP report monthly, meet with Owner/President and Project Executives monthly to go over WIP report and status of gross profit on jobs (including estimated costs, pending change orders, etc.).
- Report certified payroll weekly for PCC projects (through DLLR, LCP Tracker, e-Mars, etc.) and assist subcontractors with getting registered for submitting certified payroll and monitor/save their reports to the project file.
- Maintain that subcontractors are current with W-9’s, COIs, and any certified payroll reports, wrap-up insurance enrollment and reports, enrollment to first source and any reporting.
- Produces financial reports and analyses (WIP, P&L, Balance Sheet, AR Summary monthly) and confer with CPA.
- Keeps and regularly updates company records – balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements and most importantly the WIP (Work in Process schedule).
- Prepare weekly payroll and expenses, process in house through QuickBooks and M&T, then send paystubs to employees.
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports.
- Maintain bank account and reconciliations, deposit of checks, and use of Positive pay/ACH Monitor.
- Prepare invoices, releases, stored material paperwork, COI’s as needed.
- Prepares and reconciles daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statements for certified payroll, wrap-up insurance programs and first source reporting.
- Maintain financial data for RLP Investment Properties and Lindbergh Condominiums which includes all invoicing, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, preparation of financial statements, create budgets, maintain business licenses and tax payments.
- Manage PCC, RLP and Lindbergh insurance for GL/Umbrella/WC/Auto and prepare audits and changes as needed.
- Obtain contract bonds on projects they are required for.
- Audit all accounts against contractual terms, budgets, and time schedules.
- Minimum of four (4)-year degrees in accounting, business, or related discipline
