About the role

The Senior Analytics Engineer is instrumental in building and maintaining the data foundation that empowers data-driven decision-making within Europe. Their expertise bridges the gap between data science and engineering, ensuring data accessibility, quality, and efficiency. 
They will construct reusable European data assets by improving the environment and infrastructure created by data engineers. Code will be used to generate these assets, and they will ensure code maintenance through standard methodologies in software engineering. Through understanding organizational needs and user requirements, they will create data assets that are usable and reusable. Ensuring that data analysts, data scientists, and other collaborators can access data seamlessly is an integral part of the role.
In summary, together with the Advanced Analytics Lead, the Senior Analytics Engineer will combine technical expertise with business insight to empower data-driven decision-making across Europe.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Act as the liaison for app/web developers, data analytics/science/engineering teams
  • Ensure the delivery of well-defined, transformed, tested, detailed, and code-reviewed datasets for analysis to support European analytics/predictive initiatives.
  • Builds data aggregation pipelines using Python, Spark, or SQL
  • Builds robust data models and architectures to contribute to European initiatives
  • Collaborates with European Product Owners & Domain Experts to understand their analytics needs and deliver comprehensive models to support their reports & dashboards with predictive insights to drive data-driven decision-making
  • Identifies and implements optimizations to continually improve query performance, reduce processing time, and increase overall efficiency
  • Designs, develops and coordinates data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable ETL processes
  • Collaborates with data scientists to integrate advanced analytics & machine learning algorithms into analytics workflows
  • Ensures data quality and accuracy by implementing data validation, monitoring, and error-handling processes

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • A degree in computer science, data science, data analysis, or related field
  • +5 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a similar role
  • Expertise in data modelling, ETL development, and data analysis
  • Strong ability in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and proficiency in data warehousing concepts/tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure for data storage and processing
  • Substantial programming ability using languages/tools such as R, Python, etc. for data manipulation and scripting
  • Proven understanding of relevant data governance, data quality, and data security standard methodologies

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and analytically
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g: Power BI)
  • Excellent collaboration skills to optimally collaborate with multi-functional teams and present insights to Product Owners & SMEs
