JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Director of the Center for Career Development and Community Engagement (CCDCE) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a comprehensive office that supports student career readiness and community engagement at Marymount University. This role is responsible for directing programs and services related to career advising, employer engagement, internships, and experiential learning.
The Executive Director also manages external partnerships, spearheads grant-funded initiatives, supervises staff and student workers, and serves as a key liaison to faculty, community organizations, and regional partners. The position ensures alignment between institutional goals and workforce development strategies, with a strong emphasis on equity, inclusion, and student success.
This position will be a key liaison between the 3 academic colleges, working closely with the Deans of the College of Business, Innovation, Leadership and Technology (BILT), College of Health and Education (CHE) and College of Sciences and Humanities (CSH) to align CCDCE activities with strategic goals, curriculum, programs and relationships that will continue beyond the term of this position. Building each college’s network with employers and business leaders and building relationships with strategic partners is integral to this role.
Time in this position will be split between CCDCE (80%) and college-based initiatives (20%).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CCDCE Duties (80% of time)
1) Strategic Leadership and Operational Oversight
Review and update the vision and mission and guide the direction of the CCDCE to support student development, community partnerships, and career preparation in line with best practices and the future of work.
Create a strategic plan for CCDCE that is in line with both institutional goals and future workforce needs in terms of career preparation, competent use of technology of the future (e.g. Artificial Intelligence), career advising, employer engagement, meaningful internships, and experiential learning.
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with institutional mission and regional workforce needs.
Lead team meetings and supervise full-time and student staff.
Competency in handling sensitive and confidential data and information.
