Job Description

In late 2022, Northwestern Medicine opened a new cancer center in Orland Park, Illinois: the St. George Cancer Institute. This was funded largely through a $51 million gift from the St. George Corporation, with the explicit goal of delivering state-of-the-art cancer care and, equally important, bringing novel, promising cancer treatments to the south suburbs.  In this dedicated space for oncology, patients will have access to the latest cancer therapies, including clinical trials of treatments not yet widely available.

Our physician led medical group promotes physician leadership, wellness, and work-life balance.  Our system places heavy emphasis on collaboration with highly skilled board certified medical and radiation oncologists, as well as surgical subspecialists.

Requirements of the role:

• Qualifications required to obtain hospital privileges at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Palos Hospital, including an active Illinois medical license.
• Board eligible or certified for Medical Oncology.
• Completion of a Hematology/Medical Oncology fellowship at a university teaching program/preferably an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center.
• Extensive experience and training in the management of complex hematologic disorders and malignancies.
• Advanced training in clinical trial development and execution, or equivalent experience, which supports the responsibilities of this role
• Provides primary leadership and oversight for existing clinical trial operations in the St. George Cancer Institute.
• Works in collaboration with the Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center and Regional Cancer Program leaders to set annual performance and quality goals and enhance clinical integration at the St. George Cancer Institute.
• Supports site compliance for clinical trial accrual, regulatory compliance, and data monitoring.  Contributes to the development of those standards in collaboration with Cancer Program leaders.
• Designs, implements and leads strategy to activate and support appropriate clinical trials in the NM South Region, including robust accrual, regulatory compliance and data monitoring.
• EPIC electronic health record system experience preferred.

Salary: $350,000 - $500,000
