Materials & Equipment Resource Technician - Emergency Department - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Materials & Equipment Resource Technician collaborates with emergency department and other departments in ordering, storage, distributing and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile equipment and supplies. 

Core Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Bio-med, engineering and purchasing in maintenance and repair of equipment and instrumentation
• Assist in the ordering and research of new equipment
• Collaborates with the emergency department in establishing levels and changing of par levels of supplies, sutures, and carts
• Establish inventory control and par levels on all special items that are pertinent to the emergency department
• Prepares and submits requisitions for replacements, repairs and new products
• Arranges with other hospitals and vendors for special needs, rush orders emergencies
• Meets with vendors to evaluate need for supplies/equipment
• Responsible for organizing, obtaining, and maintaining all required forms
• Maintains logs to ensure compliance with regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent 

PREFERRED:

• 1 year of additional schooling
• Emergency Department Care Attendant or equivalent experience
