Who will you be working with?

The Corporate Development Associate will report to the Vice President, Corporate Development, responsible for day-to-day management and execution of M&A transactions evaluation of M&A targets and maintenance of the M&A pipeline. In this capacity, the role will be part of a small core team working across the enterprise, leading deal teams comprised of internal and external resources This position will support the broader functional objectives of identifying inorganic business opportunities and managing relationships with entities important to Wabtec’s growth strategy.  The role will have high visibility with both Executive and Business Unit Leadership teams.

How will you make a difference?

You will participate as a key stakeholder in the strategic analysis and evaluation, connecting industry trends, product focus, market opportunities, valuation and other drivers to establish and manage an attractive M&A pipeline. You will lead deal teams comprised of internal and external resources while serving as a lead interface with the respective counterparties, planning and managing the due diligence process, providing deal models and key valuation metrics, building business cases, performing risk analysis, and presenting business cases to senior leadership.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Corporate Development is required
  • Fluent in English. Second language a plus
  • Excellent financial analysis and valuation skills, including an understanding of merger/acquisition analysis and or related issues
  • Excellent organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive approach to project management and willingness to take ownership of projects with demonstrated experience driving projects and deliverables to completion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to present to executive management
  • Excellent business sense and ability to understand and resolve complex business issues
  • Collaborative nature that enables the ability to interact and influence across all levels within and outside Wabtec
  • Dynamic personality to lead and influence cross-functional deal teams
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, planning, and execution
  • Experience working with global teams

What will your typical day look like?

  • Create detailed driver-based business valuation Excel models
  • Indirectly manage cross-functional teams to lead core phases of the M&A process including due diligence, financial modelling, analysis, valuation (in partnership with Finance), and business case development
  • Create PowerPoint presentations to support reporting on M&A strategy, targets, and progress to Executive and Business Unit Leadership teams
  • Assist the integration team with a post-close plan, as needed

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to be in a seated position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $86,000 - $159,000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands
