PAY 

$14.75 - $19.75 Hourly

The normal starting pay for this position is the minimum of the pay range listed above. A higher rate of pay may be considered, dependent on the qualifications and experience of the selected applicant and/or the City’s step placement policy.

POSITION DESIGNATION 

This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019.   This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is located in the Horticulture Section of the Maintenance Division of the Airport Department within the City of Oklahoma City. This position is primarily responsible for performing various facilities and grounds maintenance tasks utilizing vehicles, mowing equipment, and standard electrical and hand tools. The work ordinarily follows an established routine, which may include manual laboring duties in addition to equipment operation. Equipment operated may include: tractors with attachments, forklifts, front-end loaders, packers, pickups, flatbeds, dump trucks, lawn mowers and trimmers. Maintenance repair tasks are performed for basic upkeep of City grounds and facilities. The necessary skills, knowledge, and ability and/or licenses and certifications to perform departmental specific tasks must be acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position. Possession of a valid driver license (Operator) is required.

Note:   This position will work no more than 29 hours per week.

Pay Method:  City employees are required to receive pay electronically, either via direct deposit or pay card.
