This position assists with proactive patient/visitor rounding and responding to all complaints, grievances, and complaints for the TJUH ED. Position is expected to complete 20 patient rounds a day on ED patients and assist with any other service improvement initiatives in the future.For staff, the Patient Experience Coordinator enhances workflow efficiency by managing non-clinical tasks, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on delivering high-quality medical care. Their presence contributes to a more organized and empathetic environment, ultimately improving overall patient satisfaction and staff morale.
Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Patient Experience Coordinator’s primary functions are to serve as the liaison between patients and the hospital and to provide leadership and project portfolio management for service and quality initiatives. The Patient Experience Coordinator also acts as an advocate to patients and families and provides a specific channel through which they can seek solutions to problems, concerns and unmet needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
- Act as an advocate for patient/family to provide timely resolution of problems/concerns.
• Investigate all patient/family inquiries and complaints working collaboratively with a range of healthcare professionals and support staff to facilitate a resolution of issue(s).
• Act as advisor to patients/families/staff relative to hospital policies with special focus on patient rights.
• Facilitate and coordinate amenities/services that support/enhance positive patient experience.
• Create, maintain and manage statistical database that supports the department.
• Project development of databases, coordination of team activities with databases, research best practices and prepare reports to update management teams.
• Work with patient experience committees and Balanced Scorecard Service Program to develop service initiatives.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital. - Rounding on patients in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Units
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Education includes High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree- Behavioral or Clinical Sciences, equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Preferably one to two years experience as a Patient Representative or comparable customer service position.
