Position Specific Description

The applicant must have the ability to provide senior level environmental staff support for operational facilities in power generation (fossil and solar). Primary responsibilities include the follow:
 
    • Support in environmental transition plan execution from construction to operations, ensuring compliance with environmental requirements and standards
    • Support the training program for sites to utilize regarding environmental regulations, best practices, and compliance procedures
    • Conduct operational reviews to assess compliance with environmental regulations and standards
    • Perform condition assessments throughout the fleet to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential environmental impacts
    • Facilitate change management initiatives related to environmental compliance, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes
    • Conduct periodic inspections of facilities, equipment, and operations to identify and address any environmental compliance issues
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and legal, to ensure alignment with environmental compliance objectives
    • Stay updated on relevant environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices, and communicate changes to the organization
    • Participate in environmental audits and regulatory inspections, providing necessary documentation and support
    • Limited travel to various company sites as needed
 
Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Environmental Science or Engineering), Master’s preferred
    • Minimum of four years of directly relevant experience
    • In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including but not limited to air quality, water quality, waste management, and hazardous materials
    • Experience with compliance related software and/or data tracking systems
    • Advanced oral and written communication skills as well as analysis, problem solving, compliance, leadership, and process/project management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different levels of the organization
    • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Environmental operations experience is preferred 
 

Job Overview

Employees in this job are responsible for providing expert environmental support for new and existing facilities including due diligence, permitting, regulatory compliance, regulatory interpretation and development, and interface with Federal, State, and Regional agencies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Supports the company's compliance with environmental requirements
•   Performs comprehensive environmental due diligence reviews
•   Assists with facility compliance audits
•   Conducts environmental licensing and permitting activities
•   Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions
•   Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers
•   Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
