Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Product Support and Services - IT&DA team is currently looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Customer Support – Technical Publication Transformation team. This position will be based out of Seattle, Washington or Seal Beach, California. This organization partners internally with Boeing Commercial Aviation - Customer Support organization and enables the creation and delivery of Technical Manuals and related content to airlines and maintenance organizations.  We are looking for a self-starter with broad understanding of large-scale system design and development in a cloud native environment.

As a member of the Technical Publication Transformation team, you will be involved in the entire software development life cycle, from idea creation and development, to maintenance and support of the deployed system. This position will place you in roles where you can have a major impact on the service provided to our Boeing Engineers across Maintenance, Flight Ops, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and Boeing’s Suppliers, customers including global airlines, and to enable the rest of the development team to advance the platform capabilities. The Technical Publication Transformation team offers a collaborative environment where you can learn from or lead others.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develop Technical Publication Platform on Azure

• Develop, improve, and maintain the platform services associated with Tech Publication Platform (Java, SQL Server, MySQL, TypeScript, XML Technologies)

• Develop and maintain Tech Pubs infrastructure (Azure, PaaS, Kubernetes, Docker, YAML, JSON)

• Build resilient cloud-native services and capabilities

• Establish robust DevSecOps implementations for the next-generation Tech Pubs Platform

• Integrate, test, and deliver within a CI/CD pipeline

• Agile development within a cross-discipline, global team

• Contribute to software design and architecture documentation

• Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving

• Demonstrate the Boeing Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

 

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of experience with developing software with application integration and system architecture, utilizing standard IT lifecycle methodologies and tools

• 3+ years of experience with full-stack web development

• Experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud

• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile methodologies

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development experience and building scalable services

• 5+ years of experience working with API / back-end code in one or more languages

• Experience and versatility with multiple development environments (Windows/Linux)

• Experience working with XML and XML based technologies and frameworks, e.g. XSL, FO, CSS, Schematron

• Experience using application lifecycle management tools such as ADO/GitLab

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

• Experience working with large file-system based storage options

• Relational database experience, e.g. MySQL or PostgreSQL

• Experience building data transformation services using Azure Data Factory or similar tools

 

Typical Education/Experience:

Mid-Level (Level 3) 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
