Senior Layer System Engineer

Within its branch dedicated to the development of automation solutions for egg-laying hen farms (AEI), Munters is looking for a Senior Layer System Engineer to strengthen the existing team and guarantee a more structured management of developments and deployments.

More specifically, his/her shall:

• Get familiar with the existing technology and the overall system architecture, both from the HW and SW standpoint, including also farm visits to better understand the customer needs and the typical deployment process
• Promote and lead initiatives to systematically document the whole system and its customizations for each type of customers, recommending where needed the proper state-of-the-art IT tools that can help a better know-how sharing and project traceability
• Support and shadow the current local R&D leader, to ensure a smooth transition when he will decide to retire
• Be part of the product development process, working side by side with the other team members to keep developing superior products and following the MPD (Munters Product Development) process
• Identify architectural, functional and UI/UX improvements and optimization that can be achieved through proper synergies with other controller R&D centers at Munters
• Evaluate gaps and propose actions to start selling AEI products in other markets besides US
• Bring a service-oriented mindset, to enable a better value-driven monetization of cloud-based services and specific HW/SW components.
• Represent the AEI/layer application perspective in case of Munters M&A initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience, with 3 years as a R&D team leader in an IoT company
• Excellence in Agile development methodology
• Proven leadership on product development projects, from technology roadmaps to actual software development
• Experience on advanced automation systems (e.g.: AI, data science, image processing, system modeling etc.)
• Familiarity with structured processes for product development
• Familiarity with livestock farming
• Fluent English
• Able to communicate in Portuguese
