Join our dynamic Cyber Security Team as a Security Analyst I or II!

Picture yourself at the forefront of protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure! SPP is looking for a team oriented, highly adaptable analyst that can work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate works well with others, can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and is able to communicate at all levels of the organization. Individual must be able to pass required background check to gain Federal security clearance. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with industry peers in the field of cyber security.

Your main responsibility will be ingesting and analyzing multiple threat intelligence data sources to produce briefings and researching and analyzing vulnerabilities and threat hunting for indicators of compromise. Other responsibilities include monitoring open-source threat feeds and providing timely updates and security briefs to upper management. Assist cyber team with managing vulnerability database along with maturing the threat intel and vulnerability management solutions.

To be successful as our Security Analyst, we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Level II: Three (3) years’ experience of relevant Information Technology or cyber security experience
  • Level I: No experience required
  • Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Unix or Linux operating systems
  • Effective troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Effective working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
  • Good customer service and organization skills
  • Understanding of compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures 

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as SSCP, CAP and Security+ preferred
  • One (1) year of security-related experience
  • One (1) or more years applicable utility industry experience
  • Experience performing malware analysis including reverse engineering
  • Experience performing security assessments and making recommendations for improvements

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Location:

This is a hybrid position with a requirement for a minimum of 2-3 days onsite in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required. 

This role includes a 24/7 on-call rotation. You can anticipate being on call for our most critical applications for one week every 6-7 weeks, requiring availability around the clock.

Travel Requirement:

This position requires moderate travel (approximately 10%).
