Postdoctoral Associate - Biomaterials and Drug Delivery

Summary

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available at the Surgical Bioengineering Research Lab in the Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. The postdoctoral associate will support the Principal Investigator to design, execute and control of laboratory research studies. They will assist in training and mentoring lab personnel, and day-to-day lab management and organization.

Job Duties

• Supports to design, execute and control in the laboratory research studies. 
• Works independently within a dynamic multidisciplinary group.
• Reads and evaluates current scientific literature.
• Plans and conducts experiments.
• Analyzes data, and regularly present findings at lab meetings.
• Contributes to manuscript preparation that includes generating figures, tables, and charts.
• Assists in training and mentoring lab personnel, and day-to-day lab management and organization.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, Chemistry, or Bioengineering.
• PhD in cell/molecular biology, immunology, or a related scientific field.
• Background and experience in Biomaterials, drug delivery, and small animal surgeries is desriable.
• Has the interpersonal skills to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
