What this job involves:
As a Supervisor of Janitorial Services at JLL, you'll lead comprehensive sanitation operations across both manufacturing and administrative environments, ensuring excellence in cleanliness, safety, and compliance. This critical supervisory role combines hands-on floor management with team leadership, requiring you to coordinate cleaning crews, maintain quality standards through systematic auditing, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Your work directly impacts workplace safety, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction while supporting JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility services.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Review previous shift End-of-Shift (EOS) reports, annotate carryover items, and conduct beginning-of-shift briefings that include personnel and equipment assignments, safety discussions, and coordination with Plant Management
- Run the floor throughout the entire shift by flexing employees to address hot spots and absences, deploying emergency response cleanups via radio, and filling staffing gaps as needed
- Conduct systematic route audits using Corrigo to assess employee cleaning and sanitizing procedures, verify PPE compliance, and ensure adherence to Task Instruction Sheets (TIS) standards
- Supervise and develop cleaning staff through coaching, performance monitoring, training on proper chemical usage and equipment operation, and ensuring 100% safety training compliance
- Ensure all personnel complete pre- and post-operation equipment checks, maintain equipment readiness through inspections, coordinate basic preventive maintenance, and request maintenance support when needed
- Report incidents, hazards, and supply needs to JLL and Safety leadership while monitoring cleaning materials usage to minimize waste and maintain inventory levels
- Build collaborative relationships with Maintenance Engineers and area leadership, develop plans for compression work or shutdowns, and support the plant recycling program
Required Qualifications:

- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience demonstrating leadership capability
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environments with competing priorities
- Experience working in a unionized environment with knowledge of UAW policies and labor relations
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with ability to make real-time operational decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to train, coach, and motivate diverse teams
- Flexibility to work overtime, adjust schedules as needed, and maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with OSHA, state, and local regulatory compliance requirements and environmental health & safety protocols
- Experience with HAZMAT (Hazardous Material) handling and compliance procedures
