Tentative Schedule: 

LIT 1015 Introduction to Literature:  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and alternating Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

LIT 2046 Literature of Women:  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and alternating Fridays 9:35 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.

 

Position Purpose

The English adjunct works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for meeting all scheduled classes and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of CEC, the community college, and the approved course syllabus.

Job Duties

Upholds CECs beliefs found on the CEC website.
Develops and administers English education curriculum consistent with community college objectives.
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to enhance learning.
Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
Ensures that student conduct conforms with CECs Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.
Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications

Masters degree and 18 graduate credit hours in literature or composition required.
Prior to start, approval will be required by the community college partner.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
