The department

Generic IT Services and User Experience (GIT-UX) is a department within NXP IT and has the mission to Secure NXP Growth by delivering Agile, Reliable and Secure IT products and Services against and at benchmark costs, investing in a workforce that drives value for our customers.

The team

Trust Provisioning IT is the team that designs, builds and operates the core backend infrastructure of NXP. We are a diverse mix with professionals in different levels of seniority that support our backend infrastructure and the related components. In our current evolution we are transforming into a state of the art IT Infrastructure and are looking for the right talent to help us in our journey.

The role

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift clusters and related infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of OpenShift environments.
• Experience with Bare-Metal installations of OpenShift
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to OpenShift deployments.
• Automate deployment processes and infrastructure management using tools such as Ansible, Helm.
• Provide training and support to team members on OpenShift best practices and usage.
• Stay up to date with OpenShift and Kubernetes developments, and assess new features for potential integration.
• Document architecture, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Implementing cluster configurations ( Policies, RBAC, etc)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash, YAML, json )
• Experience with CI/CD tools (ArgoCD, GitLab CI, etc.) and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience in working in Air-Gapped Environments.
• Excellent knowledge of container technologies and integration with the following linux distros Fedora, RHEL, CoreOS, etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with image mirroring tools ( quay, harbor, nexus, etc.)
• Experience with Container virtualization technologies ( KubeVirt, OpenShift Virtualization)

Preferred Qualifications:

• OpenShift certification (OCE) or related certifications.
• Experience with designing microservices architecture and application development.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, and security in containerized environments. This includes technologies as ODF, S3 storage, Persistent Volumes, OVNKubernetes, MetalLB etc.

What you will need to succeed

• 5+ years of relevant IT experience in designing and deploying enterprise level IT infrastructure solutions within multinational  organizations
• Structured, analytical and logical mindset.
• Solid experience in the field of technical documentation and the ability to present complex interrelationships in an easy and understandable way.
• Constant desire to improve the status quo, to learn about and discover new things.
• Senior level of experience with Virtual Machines (Windows/Linux)
• Senior level of experience with containerization solutions (Docker/Kubernetes/Suse Ranger/Red Hat Openshift/Persistent storage)
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
