About the role

Squarespace is looking for an accomplished Director-level leader to join our Finance organization.

As a senior leader on the Finance team, you will collaborate with the Squarespace executive team and their leadership teams to evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives, optimizing spend while driving topline growth. You will serve as the primary resource for investment analysis and forward-looking financial assumptions. You will build strong relationships across the organization and deliver clear, concise financial insights, driving strategic processes and impactful outcomes.

You will report to our Senior Director, FP&A and be based in our New York headquarters.

You'll Get To…

Strategic Partnership:

  • Act as a key business partner to business leaders across R&D, Marketing, Customer Operations and General Managers to provide strategic financial insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Proactively recommend areas of opportunity to key stakeholders

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to assess the financial impact of short and long term strategic priorities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals.

Financial Modeling & Planning:

  • Build & refine financial models for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning to support strategic initiatives.
  • Develop a robust framework to monitor, analyze, and optimize media and acquisition spend within Marketing's budget, driving efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop comprehensive financial models to provide data-driven insights and improve decision-making across strategic initiatives.

Executive Reporting:

  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, summarizing financial results and offering strategic recommendations for the senior leadership team
  • Implement best practices for managing vendor and headcount spend approvals, ensuring financial discipline and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Who We're Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis with a focus on topline growth.
  • 6+ years of people management experience, including leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to understand and proactively communicate the financial implications of business decisions and evolving market dynamics.
  • Extensive experience preparing and presenting financial analysis, forecasts, and actionable recommendations to executives and senior-level stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying intellectual curiosity to uncover insights and develop innovative solutions that deliver differentiated results.
  • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights and concise recommendations.
  • Keen eye for detail with the ability to identify and communicate overarching trends and strategic opportunities to senior management.

Cash Compensation Range: $203,500 - $275,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
