Embedded Software Engineering Co-op - Summer of Fall 2024

 

The Teradyne Firmware Engineering team is looking for an energetic, technically driven Embedded Firmware Co-Op or intern to focus on the development of software systems for Embedded products within the HDD Business Unit. This individual will report directly to the Firmware Engineering Manager, working with team members to setup and debug development issues.

 

• We are ideally looking for a full-time intern or co-op for summer or fall 2024. Flexible start and end date, 3-6 month duration, with opportunity to start this spring/summer and extend into the fall.
• The role is based in North Reading, MA and candidate will need to be on-site.
• Unfortunately, we are not able to provide relocation assistance.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Evaluating requirements, creating designs, coding, debugging/creating installation packages and documenting developed software

· Putting together equipment racks for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)

· Assist with new firmware releases for ATEs

· Working under direction of senior level software engineers

· Writing test scripts

· Complete research assignments on the latest software tools to handle various tasks

· Automation design for existing manual processes and data gathering

 

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

 

· Must be currently attending a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

· Must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher

· Hands-on hardware exposure with basic knowledge of software

· Prior experience with programming is a plus

· Experience with Microsoft Office product

 

Additional desired skills (a plus)

 

• Conceive and implement C# or C/C++ software solutions.
• Develop embedded systems on microcontrollers/embedded processors.

 

Education

 

· Must be currently attending a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
