Towne Insurance is hiring an Accounting Specialist – Producer/Broker to join our team. This position is located in Norfolk, VA. The Accounting Specialist – Producer/Broker is responsible for processing producer and outside broker commissions in the EPIC agency management system.

About the Role

• Verify billed and paid compensation against producer and broker contracts 
• Resolve identified discrepancies
• Process direct bill sweeps
• Assist producer/broker payables team members as needed
• Adhere to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
• Other duties as assigned 

 

Skills and experience you’ll need:

We seek a candidate with an associate's degree or two-years of experience in an office environment, as well as the following:

• Ability to process a large amount of data quickly and accurately 
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel
• Ability to operate in a fast paced enviornment
• Ability to work independently
• Dependable and punctual 
• Is a highly motivated team player 

 

Bonus points if you have:

• Insurance industry experience 
• Payroll experience 
• Accounts payable experience
