In this position...
The Technology Platforms Operational Specialist provides dedicated logistical and operational support to the teams comprising the Technology Platforms organization: Research & Advanced Engineering, Global Technology Strategy, and Technology Platform Program Management.  Duties include management of positions, purchase orders, and general administration of significant projects.
 

What you'll do...

  • Business Operations Team Project Management & Tracking
  • Procurement Operations: Manage the purchasing, budgeting, scheduling, tracking, and receiving of goods & services (Ford Procurement Systems – Ariba/Aurora, GPIRS, CPARS, Check Requests)
  • Resolve open commitments and communicate order status to requestors, suppliers, and purchasing
  • Interface with Ford buyers to support Aurora amendments & supplier invoice issues
  • Interface with Technology Platforms Budget Team and Technology Platforms Finance team regarding status of PO requests, budget-related issues, etc.
  • Track and report departmental headcount & position management within Technology Platforms / EVD&D
  • Assist with Capital procurement & Capital appropriations process improvement teams / asset disposal process
  • Establish & maintain Ariba approval chains & update as needed
  • Create new supplier codes & update as needed in TrackLite and GSDB database
  • Maintain department FAB card – place orders, track spending, perform monthly reconciliation
     

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in Ford or other OEM/Supplier Product Development organization
  • 1 + year experience with Ford Ariba/Aurora, CPARS, GPIRS, and Purchasing systems
  • 1 + year experience in Automotive/OEM, Supplier Finance, Purchasing, and Procurement processes

  • 1 + year experience working within Automotive/Powertrain sub-systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication skills with cross functional teams
  • Creative, flexible, motivated, and solution-oriented
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively address them
  • Experience with facilitating project portfolio, finance, or budget-related management presentations
  • Data-driven and results-focused
