This position is for an experienced commodity manager in the Electronic Component team.  Responsibilities will be to develop an overall strategy for the magnetics commodity, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs/strategy, aligning with key suppliers, and complete contract negotiations to execute strategy. 

This individual will ideally sit at Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA or Charlotte, NC but can potentially work remote.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops a strategic plan for a commodity and supply base

  • Collaborates with multiple business units to executes Supply Chain strategies

  • Owns and responsible for relationship with multiple strategic suppliers

  • Evaluates and selects supplier alignment based on price competitiveness, capability, quality, reliability (TCO)

  • Negotiates and executes long term agreements with supply base that aligns with commodity strategy and internal stakeholders needs

  • Leads sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature

  • Works with limited oversight from leadership

  • Manages several projects at one time with a variety of complexity

  • Clearly communicate commodity or project status to leadership

  • Ability to identify and pursue VA/VE opportunities through collaboration with internal stakeholders

  • Lead change management or work transfer projects for cost savings or better alignment with supply base.

  • Analyzes data and information to determine reasonable prices.

  • Able and willing to coach peers as needed

  • Influence and support Collins strategic initiatives and change management projects.

  • Must be willing and able to travel 15% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

  •  3+ years of prior supply chain experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience with project management experience

  • Experience with Electronic Components

  • Prior experience with contract negotiations

  • Prior experience with (Excel, Access database, SAP)
