As a Plant Engineering Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lean and Operational Excellence Champion
  • Direct Supervision and Operators within the Maintenance Organization
  • Consulting and Interacting with the business and plant leadership to ensure alignment with business trends, initiatives, and strategies
  • Manage Value Stream improvements
  • Determine priorities and assign proper resources to deliver needed results
  • Evaluates employee’s performance and provides necessary feedback. Utilizes corrective action to resolve conflict and inappropriate behavior
  • Champion for employee engagement
  • Development of Plant Engineering personnel

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • Three (3) years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance setting in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Predictive and Preventative Maintenance experience
  • Experience with Lean Principles and Practices
  • Broad knowledge and experience in EHS, Production Management, Supply Chain, and Plant Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple divisions across multiple businesses
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of leading change
  • Results-oriented and strong execution skills
  • Effective decision-making with the ability to influence others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivering strong business results
  • MS Office proficient

Work Location: On-site at Decatur, AL

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized          

Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
