Family Services Specialist

We are searching for a Family Services Specialist. Someone who will ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIPPA regulations and facilitate hospital response to requests for patient coordination which may include bed placement, EMTALA and state transfer regulations. To prepare reports for executive groups and make recommendations on process improvements.

Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- 3 years experience in face-to-face customer service in the healthcare, family services, children's services, education, hospitality, or entertainment industries required
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates patient needs related to hospital and/ or clinic visits.
- Identifies issues requiring staff education and clarification.
- Investigates issues and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Ensures that department and hospital practices are in line with policies.
- Prepares reports on patient coordination for departments and committees.
- Coordinates patient information databases.
- Educates staff on department processes and departmental and hospital policies.
- Evaluates processes and assists with the development of processes to improve department function.
